A Workbook Microsoft Excel ki ek complete file hoti hai. Jab hum Excel mein koi new file create karte hain, to woh file ek workbook kehlati hai. Workbook ke andar ek ya ek se adhik worksheets ho sakti hain.
Workbook ka use related information ko ek hi Excel file mein organize karke rakhne ke liye kiya jata hai. For example, agar kisi school ko student records maintain karne hain, to ek workbook ka naam Student_Record.xlsx ho sakta hai. Is workbook ke andar alag-alag worksheets jaise Student Marks, Fees, Attendance aur Result rakhi ja sakti hain.
Excel workbook ko commonly .xlsx file format mein save kiya jata hai. Isliye .xlsx file ko Excel workbook ke roop mein identify kiya ja sakta hai.

Is example mein Student_Record.xlsx complete workbook hai, aur Marks, Fees aur Attendance us workbook ki worksheets hain.
A Worksheet workbook ke andar ek individual working sheet hoti hai. Worksheet ka use data ko enter, organize, calculate aur manage karne ke liye kiya jata hai.
Ek worksheet rows aur columns se milkar bani hoti hai. Rows ko numbers se identify kiya jata hai, jaise 1, 2, 3, 4…, aur columns ko letters se identify kiya jata hai, jaise A, B, C, D….
Row aur column ke intersection ko Cell kaha jata hai. Har cell ki ek unique location hoti hai, jise Cell Address kaha jata hai.
For example:
A1
mein:
Isliye A1 ek particular cell ko identify karta hai.
Aapke notes mein Excel worksheet ke basic structure mein rows, columns, cells aur cell addresses ko introductory concepts ke roop mein cover kiya gaya hai.
Workbook aur worksheet ko students is simple example se samajh sakte hain:
Workbook ek complete notebook/file ki tarah hai, jabki Worksheet us notebook ke individual pages ki tarah hai.
For example:
Excel File
↓
WORKBOOK
↓
┌─────────────┬─────────────┬─────────────┐
↓ ↓ ↓
Worksheet 1 Worksheet 2 Worksheet 3
↓ ↓ ↓
Marks Fees Attendance
Yahan complete Excel file Workbook hai aur uske andar alag-alag working areas Worksheets hain.
Worksheet ke cells mein different types ka data enter kiya ja sakta hai.
For example:
A B C
┌──────────┬────────────┬───────────┐
1 │ Student │ Maths │ English │
├──────────┼────────────┼───────────┤
2 │ Rahul │ 80 │ 75 │
├──────────┼────────────┼───────────┤
3 │ Priya │ 85 │ 82 │
└──────────┴────────────┴───────────┘
Is example mein:
Is tarah worksheet mein information ko rows aur columns ke form mein systematically maintain kiya jata hai.
Worksheet ka ek important feature calculation hai. Excel mein calculation perform karne ke liye formulas ka use kiya jata hai.
For example, agar:
B2 = 80
C2 = 75
to total calculate karne ke liye formula use kiya ja sakta hai:
=B2+C2
Calculation:
B2 + C2
↓ ↓
80 + 75
↓
155
Is formula ka result 155 hoga.
Excel mein formulas cell references ka use karte hain, isliye agar B2 ya C2 ki value change hoti hai, to formula ka result bhi update ho sakta hai.
Excel mein calculations ko easy banane ke liye Functions ka use kiya jata hai.
Function ek predefined calculation hota hai. Aapke provided notes mein SUM, AVERAGE, MIN aur MAX jaise functions cover kiye gaye hain.
Agar students ke marks B2 se B6 tak hain:
Total:
=SUM(B2:B6)
Average:
=AVERAGE(B2:B6)
Smallest Marks:
=MIN(B2:B6)
Highest Marks:
=MAX(B2:B6)
